In just over ten seasons, the Massillon Tigers have won 100 more games to become the first Ohio high school to reach the plateau of 900 wins and only the fourth nation-wide. A 35-0 win over Columbus Bishop Sycamore in game two put them there.

The 2020 football season in Ohio has been a truncated one to six games and everyone that wished could enter the Ohio High School Athletic Association state championship tournament. The Tigers finished at 5-1 with the lone loss by one-point to Division I perennial state power Lakewood St. Edwards 24-23 in a rainstorm.
The WHS team bumped their lead over archrival Canton McKinley to a 20-game cushion at 73-53-5 with a 35-7 pounding of the Pups and extended their win streak to 5 games in a row in the regular season rivalry game. This 5-game streak is second only to the 9-game streak the Tigers enjoyed from 1957 through 1965. Both Tigers and Bulldogs have another 5-game streak but each include a playoff game (Canton from 1994 to 1998 and Massillon 1999 to 2002) The 2020 win was not only the 9th in the last 10 meetings, but also marked the 93rd win over a Canton public school as Massillon never lost to either Lincoln or Timken save for a tie in 1945 with Lincoln.
